Lanyon Quoit is one of Cornwall's most famous dolmens and stands close to the road leading from Madron to Morvah in west Cornwall.

Unfortunately it collapsed during a violent storm in 1815. Nine years later it was rebuilt after a fundraising campaign by locals, but the stones were not placed back on their original alignment of a North East to South West axis and the overall height of the dolmen was shortened.

Lanyon Quoit still makes an impressive and mysterious landmark, its huge capstone weighs over 13 tons and is five metres in length.

Finding Lanyon Quoit
The dolmen can be found on the B3306 between Madron and Morvah, it's close to the road and there is a small lay-by for parking.
