position on the south-west peninsular means as well as having nearly 300 miles of
coastline it is warmed by the Gulf Stream giving it a very mild and temperate climate
but with rather damp winters. There is seldom any snow except on high ground such
as Bodmin Moor.
Although the average rainfall levels are slightly higher than the rest of the UK Cornwall's weather benefits from more than 1541 hours of sunshine per year.
